: These are two worksheet questions that need to be answered in a paragraph and the whole "obamacare" thing is confusing, so I need some help.

1) I am 62 and make 90K a year. I currently pay about $420.00 a month for
my health insurance and have a $5000 deductible. Why shouldn't I pay the
tax of $2000.00 and enroll in a health plan if and when I am admitted to a
hospital, have no deductible and save the additional $2800.00 in
premiums?

2) Why is it that the United States spends so much more per person on
healthcare (compared to say European countries) yet we have what is
universally regarded as a mediocre system?
