: My wife is on disability SSDI. I currently work and make good money. My issue is we filed chptr 7 in 2009. I am having major health issues and may not be able to work in another 2 to 3 years or maybe less. These health issues are life threatening and my fears are we will run into MAJOR financial issues. We may lose everything I have worked so dam hard to get. I am worried we will be unable to afford housing of any type if this happens. Any sort of rules or tips to keep creditors from taking everything like our last dollar from our bank accounts...which are less than $1,000 .. it's just there to cover this month's bills.. we will be down to about 800-1200 a month of income tops! Not even enough to survive on let alone pay on other bills.

: Rules and tips would be to pay off bills during the next 2 or 3 years you are working.

And not running up any more bills except the medical ones.

Garnishments aren't just about bank accounts. They can take 25% of your income while you are working as well.
