HellBill » Hell Bill Area: » Bill Organizer » Is the problem the GOP won't compromise or that Obama (the community organizer) has no leadership/managerial skills?

: As evidence, I present the words of Obama lover, Chris "Tingle Me" Matthews

President Obama "obviously likes giving speeches more than he does running the executive branch," Chris Matthews said tonight.

"What part of the presidency does Obama like? He doesn't like dealing with other politicians -- that means his own cabinet, that means members of the congress, either party. He doesn't particularly like the press.... He likes to write the speeches, likes to rewrite what Favreau and the others wrote for the first draft," Matthews said.

"So what part does he like? He likes going on the road, campaigning, visiting businesses like he does every couple days somewhere in Ohio or somewhere," Matthews continued. "But what part does he like? He doesn't like lobbying for the bills he cares about. He doesn't like selling to the press. He doesn't like giving orders or giving somebody the power to give orders. He doesn't seem to like being an executive.”

: You tell me. When the opposition gets together the night after your inauguration and makes a solemn vow to obstruct anything you try to do, what kind of Management Techniques should a manager use? Or did you forget that? Yes, it's still there on tape, Mitch McConnell saying his only purpose was to make sure the CEO didn't get reelected at the next board meeting.

But it was Obama's fault, wasn't it?

: It’s pretty clear, folks. Republicans had a meeting on Obama’s first inauguration day about how they’d block every single thing on his agenda. And that’s what they’ve done. They even filibuster their own ideas to prevent progress. It has been the saddest 6 years (including the campaign) I’ve seen.

Republicans shut down the gov’t, costing us billions.

Republicans got our credit rating lowered (yes, according to S & P), costing us billions.

They’ve spend 10’s of millions on fake scandals.

They spent over $60,000,000.00 voting 50+ times to repeal ObamaCare, without a SINGLE VOTE ON AN ALTERNATIVE.

They are, indeed, the “do-nothing” party. Like adolescents who got grounded and are now stomping around like babies, finger-pointing, demonizing, hating, blocking, stalling. Sick.

: So you think that say... JFK.... or Lincoln... or the guy that brought us through WW2.....could make a speech and simply bring the crop of lunatics occupying the HOuse of Representatives into line with his way of thinking?

This is how you know you should see a doctor for your delusions. They are so clearly insane that you are the only one who believes them for a second.

: I will agree, he's not a schmoozer.
He's not much for sucking up to people who hate him.
That's not really leadership though, he's taken it on himself to do what he feels needs to be done, and do it legally and that is leadership.
The Republicans made no bones about their unwillingness to follow, back on the same day he took the oath of office, McConnell said that making Obama a one term president was their first priority.
Not helping the country get out of the recession, not jobs, not failing major businesses and insurance companies going under or the mess on Wall St. It was 'let's get Obama'.
Obama invited them to a breakfast, the next day and they refused to go.
They never gave him a chance, never intended to give him a chance. Its the least productive Congress in history. And they are proud of it.

: Harry Reid blocks everything in the Senate. Obama does what he wants by fiat through the agencies mainly. Obama wants the USA to fail.

: Then it must be Joe Biden doing such a great job getting this country back on it's feet after the bush disaster. Maybe Joe should get more credit. Maybe he's the guy to run the country after Obama leaves office.

: No. The problem is that either side knows how to make the other side look bad. All you got to do is propose something you know is so extreme they won't go with it Then you can claim the other side is obstructionist. Finally, politicians have figured out how to weaponize stupidity, greed and selfishness!
